Abstract: Precise immune responses are critical for immune-related diseases and therapy. However, cell type- and pathway- specific therapeutic targets remain limited because we do not fully understand the mechanisms of immune gene regulation. Using genomic approaches, we identified regulatory elements that underlie lymphocyte functionality during development and activation. We also dissected distinct enhancer types based on chromatin accessibility and binding of an enhancer marker, p300. Our transcriptomic and epigenomic analysis revealed that activation of innate lymphoid cells provoke distinct cascades of epigenetic changes at individual enhancers, altogether, facilitating prompt immune response. |
